Sun Life of Canada (Philippines) Inc. (Sun Life), the number one life insurance company in the Philippines, and Roche (Philippines) Inc. (Roche), the world’s largest biotech company and frontrunner in personalized healthcare, have inked a multi-pronged partnership to spearhead initiatives that will help Filipinos secure their finances and health.
Under the partnership, Sun Life and Roche will jointly study the creation of appropriate educational models and tools, as well as products and services to address financial, medical, and insurance needs of Filipinos. All of these initiatives will be geared towards a future where treatment to critical illnesses such as cancer is accessible and can lead to a continued productive life with loved ones. The first phase of the tie-up will focus on financial and medical literacy.
“Health and finances have always been key components of a brighter future, but amid the health crisis we are facing, these have become even more relevant,” Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. President Alex Narciso said. “We are fortunate to have Roche as our partner in this initiative. We look forward to exploring ways on how we can advance our advocacies together.”
“To address complex problems such as health or finances, we need an entire ecosystem of strong and dedicated partners. This is why we’re pleased to be able to work with Sun Life on this initiative and build together on how we can support the Filipino people,” Roche (Philippines) Inc. General Manager Kara Brotemarkle said.
The partnership was formalized via a virtual gathering on Zoom, which was attended by Narciso and Brotemarkle, along with Sun Life CEO and Country Head Benedict Sison, Sun Life Head of Distribution and Business Development Deo Orpilla, Sun Life Head & Accident Head Ma. Lirio Torres, Roche Finance Director Vivien Bression, Roche Country Medical Director Dr. Diana Edralin, and Roche Business Leader, Sheryl Enriquez.
