Sun Life launches another affordable Investment-Linked Insurance product

In an effort to offer Filipinos more affordable options in securing their future and provide lifetime coverage, Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. (SLOCPI) launches Sun MaxiLink 100, the company’s first investment-linked life insurance product that has coverage up to 100 years old and comes with manageable premium payments.

Sun Life was inspired to create Sun MaxiLink 100 after learning that 44% of Filipinos see life insurance as an added expense rather than a useful tool in their financial journey. This was revealed in a study commissioned by the company and conducted by Kantar Milward Brown.

“We understand that Filipinos are preoccupied with funding their needs in the present, that preparing for the future is often set aside,” Sun Life Chief Marketing Officer Mylene Lopa said. “By offering them products that provide peace of mind and security for their family at more affordable prices, we hope to enlighten them on the benefits that life insurance offers. Sun MaxiLink 100 is one such product.”

Sun MaxiLink 100 provides one with a guaranteed life insurance benefit of at least 200% of the policy’s face amount. In the event of an untimely passing, one’s family may avail the said benefit, safeguarding their dreams and goals so that these can still be fulfilled.

Premium payments are easy on the pocket with options to pay annually, semi-annually, or quarterly on a regular basis. There is also an option to increase the fund’s value anytime through top-ups or excess payments on top of your regular premium, while supplemental benefits that provide additional protection for emergencies such as accidents, disability,  or illnesses are also available with the plan.

Sun MaxiLink 100 also helps one build savings over time via investment fund options that cater to a variety of risk appetites and investment objectives. Furthermore, one can take advantage of potential returns from their chosen investment funds through partial fund withdrawals while keeping the policy intact. In turn, reaching milestones such as building funds for a child’s education, owning a home, or preparing for a comfortable retirement is well within reach.

“With Sun MaxiLink 100, we hope that Filipinos will be more open to utilizing financial instruments such as life insurance in their financial journey,” Lopa said. “This way, they can make their financial goals come true and look forward to a brighter future.”
