Sun Life Aquathlon now on its 2nd year

Athletes interested in multisport racing will once again have a venue to test their skills, as Sun Life Financial Philippines, in partnership with BikeKing Philippines, bring back the Sun Life Aquathlon

Now on its second year, the event is set to be held on October 14 at the Vermosa Sports Hub in Imus, Cavite. It will also mark the conclusion of the first ever aquathlon series in the Philippines, thus the tag "Series Championship."

"The demand for multisport races in the country has been growing significantly over the years, and Sun Life is happy to nurture the Filipinos’ interest to become fitter and healthier through sports," Sun Life Chief Marketing Officer Mylene Lopa said. "This is definitely aligned with our thrust of helping Filipinos live healthier lives."

The Sun Life Aquathlon is designed to be the perfect race for the newbie who wishes to get his/her feet wet in multisport, while it also gives the race-honed athlete a variation in his/her training program. The individual category will cover different age groups and will offer Standard and Petite distances. Meanwhile, the relay category will have slots for all-male, all-female, mixed, and family teams, but will only offer the Standard distance.

"The success of last year’s Aquathlon, which attracted a total of 422 racers, has been truly inspiring, and we look forward to offering another exciting race to this year’s participants," Lopa said.

Registration for the Sun Life Aquathlon will be until September 16 or until slots last. For more details and to register for the Sun Life Aquathlon, go to bikekingphilippines.com.
