Unit Investment Trust Funds

Unit Investment Trust Funds (UITFs) are open-ended pooled trust funds denominated in pesos or any acceptable currency, which are operated and administered by a trust entity and made available by participation. As an open-ended fund, participation or redemption is allowed as often as stated in its plan rules.

A multi-class fund is a UITF structure which has more than one class of units in the fund. The multi-class fund is invested in the same pool of securities and the same portfolio and is managed with the same investment objectives and policies.

Each unit class of a multi-class fund may have differentiated features per unit class, such as eligible investors, minimum investment amounts, holding period, trust fee rates, etc. Here are the following unit classes below:

  • Unit Class A is open for direct access by the client
  • Unit Class B is open for direct access by the client
  • Unit Class C​ is only open to IMA and other Fiduciary Accounts with SLIMTC
