Macroeconomy

• Washington will unveil the "single greatest financial offensive ever." Iran has threatened action against vessels violating Strait of Hormuz transit rules, while Oman's foreign minister is set to continue negotiations in Tehran aimed at managing passage through the critical shipping route.
• Persistently elevated geopolitical risks in the Middle East are set to drive another round of fuel price increases on Aug. 25, with diesel and gasoline prices rising by up to PHP2.31/liter and PHP1.08/liter, respectively.

Fixed Income

• PHP bond yields were rangebound with trading activity muted. The local market will continue to trade in a holding pattern ahead of the BSP rate decision on Thursday.
