Sun Life Asset Management Launches the Prosperity Card

To mark another milestone on its 15th year, Sun Life Asset Management Co., Inc. (SLAMCI) introduces the Sun Life Prosperity Card – a gift card which lets you share the gift of prosperity with your loved ones. The first of its kind in the market, the Sun Life Prosperity Card is a unique gift option that lets you and your loved ones invest in any of the peso-denominated Sun Life Prosperity Funds through any of these channels:

Unlike other gifts, the Prosperity Card is a precious gift that lasts and appreciates over time. You can also get the Prosperity Card to open an account with SLAMCI and have your own starter investment fund. With this new offering, we aim to reach out to more Filipinos especially the young generation so they can enjoy the benefits of investing in mutual funds as early as possible. We are also strengthening our online presence by enabling our clients to activate the Prosperity Card and invest in the Sun Life Prosperity Funds through an online platform.* SLAMCI clients may add the Prosperity Card to their existing account and activate it through SunLink Online.

What is the Prosperity Card?

The Prosperity Card is a gift card which can be used to invest in any of the peso-denominated mutual funds (collectively called as the Sun Life Prosperity Funds) offered by Sun Life Asset Management Company, Inc. (SLAMCI).

You may use it as a starter fund or give it as a gift to your loved ones so they, too, can have their own starter fund. It has a fixed value of Php5,000. If you already have an existing account with Sun Life Asset Management, you may add the Prosperity Card to your existing account via SunLink Online.

The user or recipient of the Card should be the one to activate it.

Who can purchase the Prosperity Card?

Filipino citizens who are at least 18 years old can purchase the Prosperity Card.

How do I purchase the Prosperity Card?

You may purchase the Prosperity Card through any of the following:

Online card purchase will be enabled soon. 1. Fill out the Purchase Form and present one valid ID to the Customer Service Associate.
2.Pay in cash and get your Prosperity Card and Official Receipt.

How do I activate my Prosperity Card?

Online Customer Centre or Financial Store Sun Life Advisor
Online card activation will be enabled soon. 1. For new investors, submit the following forms/documents to the Customer Service Associate.a. Investor Information Form
b. Investor Profile Questionnaire
c. Order Ticket - Indicate the Card Number under Payment Details in the Order Ticket.
d. Prosperity Card
e. One valid ID

2.The Customer Service Associate will refer you to the Sun Life Advisor assigned at the Customer Centre on that day. Once you’ve completed ALL requirements, your Prosperity Card will be activated. You will receive an SMS and e-mail notification confirming the card activation and subscription of shares (card value is invested in your chosen Prosperity Fund/s) on the next business day.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:

Documents and transactions received on or before the 12 noon cut-off will be processed within the same business day. Anything received after the 12 noon cut-off shall be processed the next business day.

There is an add-on fee of Php50.00 per transaction. What is it for?

The add-on fee of Php50.00 is a one-time transaction fee which includes the card packaging cost, VAT and processing fee. This amount is fixed regardless of the number of cards purchased per transaction. This allows you or your card recipient to invest the Php5,000 card value in full.

Note: If you choose Sales Load Option A or front-end load, a minimal fee will be deducted upfront. If you choose Sales Load Option B or back-end load, there is no entry fee but an exit fee will be charged if you withdraw from your investment within the first five (5) years.

I already have a mutual fund account with SLAMCI. Can I still buy the Prosperity Card?

You can purchase the Prosperity Card through any of the options above. To activate your Prosperity Card:

  1. Go to sunlife.com.ph and log on to SunLink Online.
  2. Register at SunLink Online. If you are registered user already, log in to your SunLink Online account to access your record.
  3. Add the Prosperity Card to your existing mutual fund account with SLAMCI. Indicate the card number and security code.

We encourage you to have a SunLink Online account so it will be more convenient for you to transact in the future. With this facility, you may add, transfer from one fund to another or redeem anytime. It also gives you the convenience to check and manage your transactions in a single account.

You also have an option to submit the Order Ticket together with your Prosperity Card at any of our Customer Centres. You may also contact your Sun Life Advisor for assistance.

I work overseas. Can I purchase the Prosperity Card while I’m abroad?

You may purchase and activate the Prosperity Card while you’re in the Philippines.

Does the Prosperity Card have an expiry date?

The Prosperity Card does not have an expiry date, but we strongly encourage you to activate it immediately upon purchase or receipt. This allows you to protect the value of the Prosperity Card and prevent others from using it in case of loss or theft. By activating the Prosperity Card, you can start investing in your chosen Prosperity Fund/s and enjoy potential gains early on.

Is the Prosperity Card re-loadable?

Currently, the Prosperity Card has a fixed value of Php5,000 and is non-reloadable. Various denominations may be offered in the future.

Is the Prosperity Card refundable or convertible to cash?

The Prosperity Card is neither refundable nor convertible to cash. It may be used solely to invest in the Sun Life Prosperity Funds.

What IDs are considered valid?

In compliance with the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, we only accept government-issued identification documents that contain a person’s permanent residence or country of citizenship. Filipinos will be required to present one (1) original government-issued photo‐bearing ID for the verification of Sun Life Asset Management and submit a clear copy of the same. The following are the acceptable:

  1. Passport
  2. Driver’s License
  3. National Bureau of Investigation Clearance/ID
  4. Philippine National Police Clearance/ID
  5. Unified Multipurpose ID (UMID)
  6. Postal ID 7. Voter’s ID
  7. Barangay ID/Certification
  8. Senior Citizen’s Card
  9. National Council for the Welfare of Disabled Persons (NCWDP) ID/ Certification
  10. Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ID/Certification
  11. Firearms License
  12. Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ID.

I’m still a college student and I don’t have any of the valid IDs listed above. What document should I submit?

You may submit a copy of your current school registration or school ID.

I’d like to give the Prosperity Card as a gift to a minor (i.e. for baptism, birthday, graduation, etc.). How do we go about the card activation?

The Parent/Legal guardian will act as the Principal Investor/Trustee.
