Sun Life eyes 30% growth for Cebu business

Sun Life Financial Philippines is eyeing an annual growth of at least 30% for its business in Cebu in the next two years.

This was revealed by new Sun Life CEO & Country Benedict Sison, during a recent visit to the province. “Cebu has always played a significant role in Sun Life’s operations, but we believe that there is still so much potential for our business here,” he said.

As such, the company will be launching several initiatives in the coming months, starting off with a more aggressive recruitment campaign. “The goal is to grow the number of our advisors here from a little over 300 to 1,000,” Sison said. “We’re specifically eager to attract more millennials into this profession.”

Sun Life is also planning to launch more marketing initiatives to strengthen its brand in Cebu. “We’d like to create more opportunities to connect with Cebuanos and show them how Sun Life can help them in their financial journey. We’ll do this by mounting more events and tapping key local personalities to help us get our message across,” Sison said.

Sison stressed that Sun Life’s goal is not simply to gain clients, but “clients for life.” “This means that they will choose Sun Life to be their lifetime partner and allow us to serve them not only in their present needs but over their entire lifetime, and even until the next generation.”
