A Legacy that Shines
The construction of the first batch of houses at the Sun Life Legacy of Light Village at "BayaniJuan sa Calauan" in Laguna is now underway. This will benefit over 500 families who will be relocated from Estero de Paco, a 3-kilometer tributary of the Pasig River. Sun Life pledged P49 million, spread over five years, in the Pasig River clean-up drive and for the completion of the Legacy of Light Village which is envisioned to be a 'green' village with rainwater harvesting systems and other structures and materials that will ensure an eco-efficient environment. There to grace the first year anniversary celebration of the "BayaniJuan sa Calauan" project were SLFP Foundation Executive Director Mari-an Albert and Chief Strategic Marketing Officer Greg Martin who both had a tour of the resettlement area and witnessed first-hand the progress of the Legacy village, to date.
