to you the following optional riders to provide you with
insurance coverage on top of the benefits you will receive.
With these features, you will be assured of a higher
sense of security and protection not just for yourself
but for your loved ones as well.
Group
Yearly Renewable Term (GYRT)
Provides the planholder insurance coverage to be paid in case of death.
Accidental
Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)
Provides benefits to the planholder in case of death or
dismemberment due to an accident. The AD&D rider may only be
purchased together with the GYRT rider; it cannot be obtained alone.
Eligibility for GYRT and AD&D
You can apply for both optional riders at the time you file
for an Education or Pension plan. Those who do not file an
application for the optional riders right away may do so within
90 days from the effective date of their Education or Pension Plan.
Eligibility age is from 18 to 65.
Amount of Coverage
Choose from two options. The amount of coverage may
be:
- equal to Gross Contract Price of the Plan
- equal to Maturity Value of the Plan
- For the Sun Life Education Plans, the Maturity
Value refers to the total education benefits and the
return on Gross Contract Price (GCP), if any.
There is no maximum coverage amount for GYRT, while there
is a maximum coverage amount for AD&D of PhP 6 million.*
Duration of Coverage
Planholders can choose from two options. The coverage
may be either:
- until the end of the paying period or
- until the end of the maturity period or until planholder
reaches termination age, whichever comes first
- termination age for AD&D coverage is 66 years old
- termination age for GYRT coverage is 70 years old
Personal Accident Protection (PAP)
Provides the Planholder insurance coverage to be paid in
case of death due to accident. This also comes with a comprehensive
Accidental Dismemberment and Disability coverage.
Scholar Accident Protection (SAP)
Provides the Scholar insurance coverage to be paid in case of
his death due to accident. This also comes with a comprehensive
Accidental Dismemberment and Disability coverage for the Scholar.
This is available only for Sun Life Education planholders.
Medical Reimbursement (MR)
Reimburses medical expenses incurred by the Planholder or
Scholar for the treatment of bodily injuries caused by accidents
within 30 days from the date of occurrence. Actual expenses
incurred for no more than 52 weeks after injury will also be
reimbursed. This is a supplementary benefit of PAP and SAP.
Family Accident Protection (FAP)
Provides Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance which
extends coverage to Planholder’s dependents such as spouse,
dependent children and dependent parents. This also includes
Medical Reimbursement coverage.
