Sun Life Opens Auto-Invest Program To Metrobank Account Holders

Strengthening its bid to embed a habit of investing in Filipinos and help them achieve financial freedom, Sun Life Asset Management Company, Inc. (SLAMCI) has partnered with Metrobank for its Auto-Invest program to allow the bank’s account holders to conveniently top up their mutual fund investments via automatic debit.

“Metrobank and SLAMCI are aligned in its mission to help Filipinos pursue their financial goals. With this collaboration, we hope to make investing a more convenient and pleasant experience for them and encourage them to really make it a part of their lifestyle,” SLAMCI President Valerie Pama said.

To enroll in the Auto-Invest program, clients simply have to completely fill-out 1) a Metrobank Auto-Debit Enrollment Form and 2) a Sun Life Prosperity Auto-Invest Form, which are available at Sun Life Client Centres or at sunlifefunds.com. Clients may submit these forms to their Sun Life Financial Advisor or at any Sun Life Client Centre nationwide.

Metrobank is the latest bank to affiliate with SLAMCI for Auto-Invest, joining Banco De Oro (BDO), Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), and Security Bank.

SLAMCI funds continue strong performance

Pama emphasized that it would be better to start investing sooner than later to be able to enjoy its benefits in the long-term, especially with the SLAMCI mutual funds consistently maintaining a strong performance.

For instance, the Sun Life Prosperity Bond Fund has seen a growth of 43% for the past 10 years, while the Sun Life Prosperity Balanced Fund yielded an 84% return for the same duration and the Sun Life Prosperity Philippine Equity Fund, for its part, marked a 110% return.

“This clearly demonstrates the positive results of long-term investing, and we hope to see more Filipinos enjoying the same with their hard-earned money,” Pama said. “It’s best to start young and to stay invested for as long as they can.”

It takes only P5,000 to open an account with SLAMCI, and one may choose which fund suits his profile best. Currently, SLAMCI manages 11 mutual funds collectively called as the Sun Life Prosperity Funds. Investments may be topped up monthly for a minimum of only P1,000 and may be done via the Auto-Invest program.
