This
rider may only be availed if attached to a Group Yearly
Renewable Term Policy.
Total and Permanent Disability Income
If an Employee continues to be disabled for at least
6 whole months, Sun Life shall pay a Total and Permanent
Disability Income Benefit to the Employee if:
- Total and Permanent Disability occurred while the
Policy to which this Benefit is attached is still
in force;
- the Employee has not attained the age of 60;
- the Employee has not exercised his conversion privilege
under such Policy; and
- the Employee submits satisfactory certification
of Total and Permanent Disability within 12 whole
months after the date the Policyholder ceases premium
payments for his insurance. This certification shall
be at no expense to Sun Life.
Disability Income Amount
The Amount of Insurance in respect of such Employee
shall be paid in 60 equal monthly installments at the
rate of Ps. 20.65 per Ps.1,000.00.
Definitions
Total Disability shall mean an incapacity
resulting from bodily injury or illness, sustained while
insured under this Benefit, which prevents the Employee
from performing the material and substantial duties
of any occupation for wage or profit for which he is
or becomes reasonably qualified for by education, training
and experience.
Total And Permanent Disability shall
mean Total Disability that had continued uninterruptedly
for at least 6 whole months and is expected to continue
during the remaining lifetime of the Employee.
An Employee who sustained the entire and irrecoverable
loss of the sight of both eyes, or the loss by severance
of both hands at or above the wrists, or both feet at
or above the ankle joints, or one hand at or above the
wrist and one foot at or above the ankle joint so that
he is prevented from performing any such occupation
described above, shall be deemed by Sun Life to have
suffered from Total and Permanent Disability. Proof
of continuance of such disabilities shall not be required.
